What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity is available for an Administration Officer to join the Birth Unit at Nepean Hospital as a Ward Clerk. In this role you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out all administrative duties associated with patient admissions to the Birth Unit, ward activity and patient management, including general reception duties, outpatient appointment processing, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patient ward transactions using the Hospital’s PAS.
You will ensure patients are admitted in a timely manner, deal with patients and their families during stressful times, in an appropriate manner and ensure the provision of courteous, helpful and effective reliable service is implemented in an environment which may be both high volume and fast paced.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:
- Demonstrated extensive and varied clerical experience and knowledge, including reception experience
- Demonstrated effective customer service skills
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience using Windows based software including databases and experience in using MS Word and Excel with proven typing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to be flexible and adaptable to workplace change
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy including ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
