About the role:

Reporting to the Executive General Manager South Business Unit, this role is based in Melbourne and is responsible for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia business units.


Coates has a network of branches across these regions and executes thousands of transport movements every month. We deliver our equipment to major projects, flagship events, and smaller, local works.


Transport is a core offering to our customer, and your role is to ensure safe and efficient delivery.


Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure excellence in service delivery is achieved through strong relationships with customers, suppliers and business stakeholders
  • Provide transport operations expertise, driving high levels of safety and efficiency across the business unit
  • Implement processes that support a lean and efficient overall transport strategy
  • Engage with third party transport providers to ensure clarity of deliverables
  • Track key performance indicators, identifying opportunities to improve performance


Skills & Expertise:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellence in customer service, compliance to transport safety standards, collaborative leadership and effective management of transport providers.

A history of managing logistics / transport solutions is important. Moreover, you will have a proven track record in delivering operational efficiency in transportation, whilst upholding safety standards.


Strong leadership, engagement with peers, and building relationships with suppliers and customers are all necessary qualities to be successful in this role.
